My topic/theme is African Americans that were born in the 1950-1960s that have made an impact on American society and are still alive today. I chose Michael Jordan, Will Smith, Stevie Wonder, and Oprah Winfrey because they all have had an impact in history and I have a fascinating interest in each of them. They are all inspirations to me and I believe they all have made a profound significant impact in history and continue to have an impact on people everywhere. Michael Jordan is an athlete that has accomplished so much throughout his life and has shown determination and hard-work can lead to success. Will Smith is a actor that started off young and is known for his success in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and now more known for being in many movies. Stevie Wonder is a singer and musician that has become very successful even though he was born blind. He didn't have the advantage as people who could see but was born with a gift and talent of being able to sing and play instruments and is very popularly known for it. Oprah Winfrey is a woman that grew up to be very successful and during her time she made viewers feel very comfortable in seeing a African-American woman on television daily and enjoying watching her. They are all very successful and are contributers to history, they are history makers.
